Summary

This CPD course will cover the steps involved in a foreign national’s work visa-permit process as well as the application requirements of a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) where applicable.

Overview of the decision-making behind the approval of a work visa-permit application, as well as several important considerations such as the place of application, concurrent processing with an LMIA application, maintaining implied status as a worker, and restoration of status. Common mistakes made by work permit applicants are presented, as well as ethical issues arising in recruiting and corporate practice and work permit applications.
