  • Description: Focused on the intersection of criminal justice AI and Canadian immigration law. This course explores how algorithmic pattern-matching and AI-generated court documents impact assessments of criminal inadmissibility (IRPA s. 36) and the evaluation of foreign convictions.
  • Learning Objectives:
    • Analyze the impact of AI-driven criminal records and predictive policing on inadmissibility findings.
    • Evaluate the evidentiary validity of AI-generated foreign police certificates and court transcripts.
    • Apply critical thinking to challenge algorithmic bias in criminal proceedings that affect a client's immigration status.
