EPE Prep.  General Information & Exam Tracks

Welcome to the Can-College O/A CPD House Support Center. Our simulation environment is built to exactly mirror the rigorous, high-stakes nature of the CICC Entry-to-Practice (EPE) and RISIA exams. To help you navigate our platform and policies, we have compiled answers to the most common questions from our candidates.

Whether you are preparing for your RCIC, RISIA, or IRB Specialization, this guide has everything you need to get started securely and confidently.

How to Update or Change a Mock Exam Tier or Level within the LMS system

General Information & Exam Tracks

Q: What is the CCEC Exam Simulation Platform?

A: We provide a hyper-realistic, closed-book simulation environment engineered to mirror the exact format, pacing, and pressures of the official CICC exam day. It is designed to test your cognitive endurance and real-world legal application under strict test-day time constraints.

Q: Which CICC licensing tracks do you offer simulations for?

A: We offer specialized simulation tracks for three specific pathways:

        • RISIA Entry-to-Practice (EPE)

        • RCIC Entry-to-Practice (EPE)

        • RCIC-IRB Specialization Prep

Eligibility & Document Verification

Q: Who is eligible to register for these mock exams?

A: To maintain the strict integrity of our gated simulation engine, all registrants must meet the following mandatory eligibility criteria:

        • Age: Must be at least 18 years of age.

        • Academic Qualification: You must have successfully graduated from a CICC-approved program (such as Queen's University or Université de Montréal) within the last three (3) years.

        • Active Status: You must be actively registered, or in the process of registering, for an upcoming CICC EPE or RISIA exam sitting.

Q: What documents are required to prove my eligibility?

A: During registration, you must upload digital copies of the following to our secure portal:

      1. Government-Issued ID (Passport, Driver's License, or Provincial ID) to verify age and identity matching.

      2. Proof of Graduation (Official Transcript, Diploma, or Letter of Completion) to confirm your 3-year academic window.

      3. Exam Registration Proof (Screenshot or PDF of your CICC EPE Registration) to verify your active testing status.

Q: How long does the verification process take?

A: Once you upload your documents, our administrative team conducts a manual compliance audit. Please allow 2 to 5 business days for our staff to fully review your file and activate your portal access.

Pricing, Access Tiers & Upgrades

Q: What is the difference between the Free Trial and Paid Mock Exam tiers?

A: We offer two distinct pathways based on where you are in your study journey:

        • Free Trial Simulation ($0): A focused 25-question test drive valid for 15 days, allowing a maximum of 3 exam attempts to test your baseline.

        • Paid Full Mock Exams ($75 - $125): Full-length, hyper-realistic exams matching exact CICC formats. These are valid for 90 days, grant 4 complete exam attempts, and automatically include a complimentary Test Day Data Booklet. Pricing varies by track: RISIA ($75), RCIC ($99), and RCIC-IRB ($125).

Q: I have already registered for the Free Trial. Do I need to upload my documents again to upgrade to a Paid Tier?

A: No! We have a fast-track upgrade policy. If you already passed our manual compliance audit for the Free Trial, you do not need to submit new documents as long as your official CICC exam date hasn't changed and this is your first time upgrading for this exam cycle.

Special Member Programs & Discounts

Q: I am an active CPD House Bundle Registrant preparing for my IRB Specialization. Do I need to verify my eligibility?

A: No, you are exempt! Currently licensed RCICs who are active CPD House Bundle Registrants are entirely exempt from the standard document verification process. You can simply contact our CPD support staff directly to bypass the queue and instantly register for the free or paid RCIC-IRB Mock Exam.

Q: I am a licensed member mentoring a student. Is there a discount I can offer them?

A: Yes! Through our Student Referral Program, if an active member refers a student within their practice to CCEC, that student is eligible for an exclusive 25% discount on their paid prep exam registration. The student simply needs to mention your name and CPD registration status when contacting support.

Extensions, Refunds & Security Policies

Q: Can I get a refund if I only use one attempt or change my mind?

A: Because access to our proprietary analytical feedback and simulations is delivered automatically, all fees are 100% non-refundable the moment the simulation environment has been accessed.

Q: My official CICC test date was deferred. Can I get an extension on my 90-day access?

A: Yes. While standard study extensions for convenience are not permitted, CCEC can accommodate an access extension if you supply official documentation of a CICC exam deferral or a newly scheduled later exam date.

Q: Am I allowed to print the mock exam questions or share my account with my study group?

A: Absolutely not. The simulation engine is the exclusive intellectual property of Can-College O/A CPD House (CCEC). Account credentials are strictly personalized. Any attempt to share accounts, copy text, print, or extract data from the Classmarker simulations will result in immediate, permanent account termination without a refund.

Platform Access & Timelines

How long do I have access to my mock exams?

      • Free Trial Tier: Access is valid for 15 days from the date your verification is approved.

      • Paid Tiers (RISIA, RCIC, IRB): Access is valid for 90 days from the date your payment is processed. Your access will automatically expire precisely on the CICC exam date you provided during registration.

Can I get an extension if I fail my CICC exam attempt?

No. To ensure our materials strictly comply with the CICC’s 90-day legislative cut-off rule, we enforce a strict No-Extension Policy for failed exam attempts. Once your 90-day access window expires, it cannot be extended, paused, or reactivated. You will need to repurchase access to ensure your simulations reflect the updated legal cut-offs for the next testing cohort.

Taking the Mock Exams

How many times can I attempt the mock exam?

      • Free Trial: You are permitted 3 attempts for the 25-question test drive.

      • Paid Tiers: You are permitted a maximum of 4 full exam attempts. This mirrors the CICC’s absolute limit of four lifetime EPE attempts.

Will I get new questions on each of my 4 attempts?

No, the core question bank for your specific exam tier remains static. We do this intentionally so you can measure your direct improvement and track your mastery of the rationales. However, to prevent positional memorization, the order of the questions is entirely randomized every time you start an attempt.

Does the timer pause if I need to take a break or use the washroom?

No. Just like the actual CICC virtual exam, there are no scheduled breaks. If you need to step away from your computer, the simulation timer will continue running.

Where can I find the Test Day Data Booklet?

If you are enrolled in any of our Paid Tiers, a complimentary digital copy of the Test Day Data Booklet is automatically unlocked in your LMS dashboard upon payment.

Technical Rules & Account Security

Can I share my CPD House account with my study group?

Absolutely not. We enforce a zero-tolerance policy for account sharing. Our LMS actively monitors IP addresses, geographic locations, and device footprints. If we detect simultaneous logins or unauthorized access, your account will be immediately and permanently terminated without a refund.

Are there hardware restrictions for taking the simulation?

Yes, to replicate test-day conditions, you may only use ONE monitor. If you are using a laptop or computer, you must disconnect any external monitors.

What items are permitted on my desk during a simulation?

Our environment is strictly closed-book.

        • Prohibited Items: Mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, physical notes, and digital reference tabs.

        • Permitted Items: A non-digital wristwatch to track time, and water in a clear, resealable container with all labels removed.

Payments & Refunds

What is your refund policy?

Due to the digital nature of our proprietary simulations and the immediate delivery of analytical feedback, all fees are 100% non-refundable once the simulation environment has been accessed.

How do I pay my invoice?

Once your eligibility documents pass the compliance audit, an invoice will be emailed to you. Access to the simulation engine will be automatically unlocked on your LMS profile after your payment is successfully processed.

What is the 90-day legislative cut-off rule for exams?

The 90-day legislative cut-off rule is a strict policy implemented by the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC) to ensure fairness and allow for the timely preparation of its licensing exams.

Under this rule, any changes to Canadian immigration and citizenship legislation, regulations, or government policies and procedures made within 90 days prior to a scheduled exam date will not be tested.

For candidates, this means that if a new law or policy comes into force during that 90-day window leading up to test day, they must ignore it for the purposes of the exam. Instead, candidates are required to base their answers on the older, pre-existing rules that were in effect exactly 90 days before their exam date.

This cut-off policy applies across all CICC examinations, including the RCIC Entry-to-Practice Exam (EPE), the RISIA EPE, and the RCIC-IRB Specialization Exam. Because of this rule, candidates are strongly advised to ensure that any study materials or practice exams they use are properly aligned with the specific 90-day cut-off date for their particular testing cohort.
